Regulate Social Media Platforms For Disregarding Creators (Namely YouTube)
The Issue
Recently, YouTube has been falsely terminating legitimate channels using Gemini. Over 5 million channels have been removed this year and many of these channels were removed falsely, without any of guidelines being broken.
When creators try to appeal the terminations, the appeals are automatically rejected.
These terminations are happening on legitimate channels that have never broken a single YouTube guideline. This happens with no warning and no strikes.
This issue has been happening for months on end and is not just happening to YouTube.
Other platforms like Meta have also been implementing similar AI removal systems and the flaws of doing so are clear. We are asking for the regulation of creator economies from the FTC or related US government agencies.
