Crucial Update: Council Responds - Your Emails Needed Now!

Great news, fellow petitioners! Council has taken notice of our concerns. They've reached out with a response about the potential removal of angled parking in our neighborhood. However, their reply raises more questions than it answers.

Sustainability and Strategy Manager Mary Osman reached out on behalf of Mayor Edward Crossland.  She says this plan was developed with "extensive community consultation", stating that in the 2021 Community Vision survey, 86% of respondents wanted "more sustainable transport options" rather than "more cars and parking spaces."

They are using this data to justify their plans, but here's the catch – wanting more bike lanes doesn't mean we want less parking! They're twisting the results of this specific survey to fit their agenda, and we can't let that slide.

Now's the time to make your voice heard loud and clear.

Email Mary Osman (Mary.Osman@yarracity.vic.gov.au), or Mayor Edward Crossland (Edward.Crossland@yarracity.vic.gov.au) and tell them your thoughts. Call out council's questionable interpretation of survey data. Share your parking experiences, your concerns about reduced spaces, and how it would impact your daily life. Remember, every email counts – let's flood their inboxes, show council that we're paying attention, and that we demand to be heard!

Together, we can ensure that any changes to our streets truly reflect what our community needs and wants. Don't wait – speak up now and help shape the future of our neighborhood!
