Dear Supporters,
I wanted to take a moment to share an important update and invite you to join us for an upcoming event that I believe is a critical step in the fight against workplace abuse.
On January 8, 2025, End Workplace Abuse will lead a nationwide protest at State Capitols across the country to honor and remember Dr. Antoinette “Bonnie” Candia-Bailey. Her tragic death a year ago highlights the devastating consequences of workplace abuse and the systemic failures that allow it to persist.
This event is sponsored by the Workplace Psychological Safety Act (WPSA) initiative, which calls for employers to acknowledge and address the forms of abuse that threaten employee safety and well-being. It’s a chance to stand together, raise awareness, and demand meaningful change.
Here are a few key points:
We will gather in solidarity to demand an independent investigation and Justice for Bonnie, whose voice was silenced by institutional complicity.
The protest will spotlight the urgent need for the Workplace Psychological Safety Act to protect employees from workplace abuse and the devastating processes of dehumanization and traumatization.
The main event will take place at the Missouri State Capitol, with sister events across the country. Once you RSVP, you’ll be connected to the event in your state.
If you’re working that day, I encourage you to take a personal day. This is a personal issue for all of us—workplace abuse is not only harmful, but as we’ve seen, it can be deadly.
Let’s come together to ensure Dr. Candia-Bailey’s story is not forgotten and that her death sparks the change she so desperately fought for. “Don’t let them sweep this under the rug.”
I hope to see you there. Your presence can make a difference.
Warmly,
Delia
