Sign this petition to STOP the WastAway trash facility in Murfreesboro!

The City of Murfreesboro is trying to build a trash facility at 2120 Butler Drive, Murfreesboro, TN, and we need your support to try and stop it. The facility would be managed by WastAway, and would serve as transfer station and anerobic reactor for all of Murfreesboro's trash. Not only does this facility pose a threat to the thousands of homes, businesses and neighborhoods in the area, but WastAway has never been able to successfully manage this type of facility and our city should not be treated as a test case!  The site is also located on a flood plane and on top of a cave system. The presence of these caves substantially increases the risk of sinkholes and the possibility that the already dangerous facility could collapse and contaminate the water table at any given time. Mayor Shane McFarland and our city leaders are putting WastAway before the health and safety of its citizens. Please sign below to STOP the WastAway trash facility!
