As per news paper reports three of the of Anik Kumar Chakma's murderers have been arrested recently.
As per Dainik Azadi, Police have arrested a suspect in the murder case of Anik Kumar Chakma related to communal violence in Rangamati. When presented in court, the judge ordered the suspect to be sent to jail. Md. Sahed Uddin, the Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Rangamati’s Kotwali police station, confirmed this information.
According to police and court sources, one suspect was arrested by the Kotwali police late Thursday night from the Manikchhari Upazila of Khagrachari in the case of Anik Kumar Chakma's murder, which stemmed from the communal violence that occurred on September 20 (Friday) in Rangamati.
On the afternoon of Friday (October 4), when the suspect was presented in the court of Rangamati’s Senior Judicial Magistrate Kauser Parveen Milli, the judge ordered him to be remanded to judicial custody.
It has been reported that the suspect, Md. Rubel (23), is a resident of the Champaknagar area in Rangamati district. When presented in court on Friday afternoon, Rubel gave a confessional statement under Section 164 of the Criminal Procedure Code.
The OC of Kotwali police station, Md. Sahed Uddin, stated, "The suspect Rubel was arrested from Manikchhari Upazila in Khagrachari late Thursday night. When presented in court on Friday, the court ordered him to be sent to jail."
It is noteworthy that on September 20 (Friday), during the communal conflict in Rangamati town, Anik Kumar Chakma was beaten to death at the entrance of the Kalindipur area. Anik Kumar Chakma was the younger son of Ador Sen Chakma from Noadam Para in the Jibatoli Union of Rangamati Sadar Upazila and was an 11th-grade student at Karnaphuli College in Kaptai Upazila.
Two days after the murder, on September 22, Anik's father, Ador Sen Chakma, filed a murder case at the Kotwali police station.
On the other hand, as per the CHT Today, an online news portal, three perpetrators of murder and communal attack have been arrested.

রাঙামাটিতে সাম্প্রদায়িক সহিংসতায় অনিক কুমার চাকমা হত্যা মামলায় এক আসামিকে গ্রেপ্তার করেছে পুলিশ। গ্রেপ্তার আসামিকে আদালতে তোলা হলে বিচারক জেল হাজতে প্রেরণের নির্দেশ দিয়েছেন। রাঙামাটির কোতোয়ালি থানার ভারপ্রাপ্ত কর্মকর্তা (ওসি) মো. সাহেদ উদ্দিন এ তথ্য নিশ্চিত করেছেন।
পুলিশ ও আদালত সূত্র জানিয়েছে, ২০ সেপ্টেম্বর (শুক্রবার) রাঙামাটিতে সাম্প্রদায়িক সহিংসতার ঘটনায় অনিক কুমার চাকমা হত্যা মামলায় খাগড়াছড়ির মানিকছড়ি উপজেলা থেকে বৃহস্পতিবার দিবাগত রাতে এক আসামিকে গ্রেপ্তার করে কোতোয়ালি থানা পুলিশ।
শুক্রবার (৪ অক্টোবর) বিকালে আসামিকে রাঙামাটির সিনিয়র জুডিসিয়াল ম্যাজিস্ট্রেট কাউসার পারভিন মিলির আদালতে তোলা হলে বিচারিক জেল হাজতে প্রেরণের নির্দেশ দিয়েছেন।
জানা গেছে, আসামি মো. রুবেল (২৩) রাঙামাটি জেলা শহরের চম্পকনগর এলাকার বাসিন্দা। শুক্রবার বিকালে আদালতে তোলা হলে রুবেল ফৌজদারি কার্যবিধির ১৬৪ ধারায় স্বীকারোক্তিমূলক জবাববন্দি দেন।
কোতোয়ালি থানার ভারপ্রাপ্ত কর্মকর্তা (ওসি) মো. সাহেদ উদ্দিন বলেন, ‘বৃহস্পতিবার দিবাগত রাতে খাগড়াছড়ি মানিকছড়ি উপজেলা থেকে আসামি রুবেল গ্রেপ্তার করা হয়। শুক্রবার আদালতে তোলা হলে আদালত জেল হাজতে প্রেরণের নির্দেশ দিয়েছেন।’
প্রসঙ্গত, ২০ সেপ্টেম্বর (শুক্রবার) রাঙামাটি শহরের সাম্প্রদায়িক সংঘাতের ঘটনায় জেলা শহরের কালিন্দীপুর এলাকার প্রবেশমুখে অনিক কুমার চাকমাকে পিটিয়ে হত্যা করা হয়। অনিক কুমার চাকমা রাঙামাটি সদর উপজেলা জীবতলী ইউনিয়নের নোয়াদম পাড়ার আদর সেন চাকমার ছোট ছেলে এবং কাপ্তাই উপজেলার কর্ণফুলী কলেজের একাদশ শ্রেণির ছাত্র।
পিটিয়ে হত্যার ঘটনার পর দুদিন পর ২২ সেপ্টেম্বর কোতোয়ালি থানায় হত্যা মামলা দায়ের করেন অনিকের বাবা আদর সেন চাকমা।
