I once was a student there, and my time was spent suffering from sexism, harassment, bullying, and homophobia. The vice principal (Blithen Blomquist) there is NOT anyone who should be trusted working with kids. He has, on many accounts, stood aside when I tried to report some boys who were sexually harassing me (NO JOKE).

The boys there later then lied about me "attacking" them, and he tried to SUSPEND me! The only reason I even touched them is so they would leave me alone. The truth was, they were harassing me because of my gender, and how I identified.

These boys had been singing a song they came up with that was a parody to Under the Sea, but they switched it to Under the Sheets, then talked about raping women for their own pleasure.

It was absolutely TERRIBLE. No kid should ever be subjected to such harassment. Not only did they sing this in front of me, but they would "joke" and say 'When are you going to be a normal girl and accept that all you will ever be is a mom to your husband's kids. You're not supposed to be good at math and science, just cooking and cleaning.'

Do you know how damaging that was as an 11 YEAR OLD?!!! My self-esteem was crushed, and I felt alone, and like no one could help me. I was afraid to go to school, afraid to be around boys, and afraid to be myself. I was so afraid, I started saying I was nonbinary. I wasn't really, and I know it's nothing you should lie and joke about, but I was so lost and confused and petryfied, but I didn't know what else to do.

He also tried to suspend me because a girl was trying to attack me for being Bisexual and was going through a hard time with my identity (gender) and was hitting me, saying she would stop when I admitted that I was a girl and only liked boys, and that I will always be that way. So of course, I pushed her back lightly, then after like, 5 seconds, she pretended to fall and then said I pushed her because she asked what my name was. Then, they let her go with a FREAKING LOLLIPOP and called my mom. 

That situation could have ended in justice, rather than me, even more self-conscious, and now afraid of how others will react to my identity. Even after I reported all these things with PROOF, no one ever got in trouble.

All of this happened because the Vice Principal would always turn a blind eye to what was really going on. People like this can make kids and teens, especially girls feel isolated, and like they are the problem, when really, they did nothing wrong.

If we can work together to find a better way to deal with situations like these, or even better PEOPLE to deal with things like this, and can help so many kids feel less alone in terrible times like this.

(Side tangent, the recess area was literally an empty gravel pit with goose poop, but one of the teachers, Katie Norwood, BANNED US from not CONSTANtLY RUNNING. She forced a kid who broke his leg at that school to run laps around that field because he didn't have time to do his homework. But he was literally in the hospital. Thank god she was fired and banned from teaching).

This is where we had recess, just FYI. Notice how there is NOTHING!!! No equipment, no playground, just gravel and dirt.
