I took my dog to the vet as she had a sore nose, was in there 5 minutes and got charged £132 of which £85 was for antibiotics and a medicine. I checked online and I could get the antibiotics for 60p per tablet (28 tablets) costing £16.80, and the medicine for £7.98, totaling £24.78. This means the vet's profit is £60.22 for just 5 minutes of consultation! There were about seven people leaving while I was there, each paying premium prices for medication—daylight robbery.

Vets are overcharging the public, making it unaffordable to take pets to see them because of abnormal prices they charge for medicine. Pets have to stay in pain which is morally wrong considering vets are supposed to help animals. They make over £30 profit per medicine; you can buy the same medicine online with vet approval.

In this current climate where energy prices soared and government helped out, pet owners need help too! Sign this petition to demand fair pricing from vets so that all pets can receive necessary medical care without their owners facing financial hardship.
