This motion is what we've been fighting for.
On Wednesday, Council will finally vote on whether they need to review the current multiplex policy that has led to developers building unaffordable housing that is massively out of proportion with neighbourhoods and has resulted in the destruction of our tree canopy, congested streets and shading.
Our voices must be heard and we need every signatory to take action. Please just do one thing.
You can help stop, or at least delay, this train wreck. Here is what you can do right now:
1. Sign up to be a speaker at the City Council meeting on May 20th and vote "SUPPORT" on motion #9 to 'relook' at the multiplex policies. It's the first necessary step towards any possibility of change. Here is the link to be a speaker:

While the meeting is set to start at 9:30 am, we are motion 9 so they may not get to us until the afternoon. We can monitor the livestream to see the progress. Then we need people to get to City Hall and fill the chamber. But you can participate by phone as well. You will get an email notification about 20 mins before your speaking slot.
2. Sign up to be a speaker even if you have a time conflict or are shy, because registering as a speaker is the quickest and easiest way to show that you SUPPORT this motion. You CAN PARTICIPATE BY PHONE. We need large speaker interest to help sway council.
3. If you don't want to sign up as a speaker, you can send in written comments on the housing/multiplex issue and to explicitly say "I support the motion (#9 Review and Refinement of Multiplex Housing Policies Based on Early Implementation Experience)." You can write more, but it's not necessary. Use this link to send comments:

4. If you are keen, you can provide comments AND be a speaker!!
5. Forward this to a friend and ask him/her/them to show support for the motion by doing any of the above. Anyone who wants their children or loved ones to be able to afford working and living in Vancouver needs to support this.
Thank you all for your action!
