Hey Valorant Community!

We've got a bone to pick with smurfing because It's wrecking the fun for everyone, especially those hanging out in the lower ranks. Riot, we've got a simple solution that can make a big difference: Two-Factor Authentication (2FA). Its already in the game and encouraged by riot but does nothing other than account protection. Why don't we help improve that? 

Here's are two options Riot can implement:

1. Make 2-Factor Authentication a Must for Competitive Play: Let's lock down competitive matches with 2FA. This makes it so that you cannot queue for competitive unless you have linked your phone number to Valorant. There might be a temporary dip in player base but it overall makes the experience more enjoyable for everyone! Less smurfs, Less Trolls! 
   
   
2. Set Up a (2FA Only) Queue for Verified Phone Numbers: You know how there is a toggle to open or close party? Now imagine a toggle right beside open party that shows "2FA Queue" where once enabled you will only be queued with others that have 2FA Enabled. It would be ideal to see an estimated queue time for "Normal Queue" and "2FA Queue"
3. BOTH! This method will be a gradual implementation from the second option to the first. Basically for the first 3 months players will be incentivized with gun buddies and in game goodies for enabling 2FA. They will have the chance to 2FA Queue and after 3 months, 2FA is a requirement for competitive play.

FAQ:
People can easily get a fake phone number using apps!
While that is true, it is fairly easy to find out if a phone number is registered with someone or pulled from an application. There are already many games that do not accept app based numbers and Riot can implement the same verification. 

People in 3rd world countries might not have a number to use!
I am not aware of any specific country that may have an issue with this but if this is a concern, it can be a gradual rolled out and maybe certain regions would have an exception and a 2FA system would not get implemented. 

Young kids don't have a phone number to activate 2FA!
Valorant is a game where parental supervision is practically required. If a parent deems it fit, they can use their phone number to activate their child's 2FA.

I am not the first person to come up with this idea. I've seen my fellow content creators like Rem bring this up on twitter. I've also seen many comments and reddit posts suggesting this idea. I'm simply trying to use my platform to push for this to become a reality. <3

Riot, you guys listen to the community. Let this be a huge W moment where everyone can celebrate the great company you are and how much you care about your player base.
