Good afternoon everyone!

I wanted to give you an update with what is happening with this “Sand Berm / Creek / Estuary” situation. The creek is filling up and emptying frequently and has been like it always does and we have been “breaching” the sand berm every so often.

 The city has spent $375K on a new Bulldozer to help with sand movement and maintenance of the berm. Should be arriving in October to my understanding. To use to prevent the creek from flowing to the north or south on the sand. Which causes public access issues and property damage

I have heard a rumor that this issue might be on the Tuesday nights Laguna Beach city council meeting 9/24/24 starts at 5pm.. if it is on the agenda then it could be a longer evening. But if you want to attend to support. Let me know.

We DO NOT WANT ANY NEW LAW about this sand berm situation or anything. NO “Estuary Restoration project” which will be a cesspool of mosquitos and stagnant water.

Maybe 150 years ago an estuary would work. But not now with the 19.8 miles of creek that goes through 7 cities upstream. All of that urban runoff comes down from upstream, so the longer the water “pools” at the creek mouth behind the berm, the more the stagnant water increases pollution levels causing more harm to the environment! Also causing a mass breeding of mosquitoes! It’s common sense this won’t work. 

I LOVE the ocean and environment and all coastlines. This is NOT the place for an “Estuary Restoration Fantasy Project” this pipe dream HAS TO STOP! I have countless videos, documentation, scientific studies and confirmation from home owners who are directly effected by this issue. 

PLEASE share this petition with everyone.  Things are starting to come together. I have presented tons of videos and proof to city officials, staff and city council in Laguna Beach.
