Look at us go Tenambit and Maitland! 147 signatures in less than 4 days!!
Thank you for signing, I'm SO happy to see fellow resident's concern! There can be responsible infill development, but there's also the kind that makes life difficult, even harmful or unsafe for residents in or around it. Several residents believe it is harmful, unsafe and has the potential to set a trend for the future across Maitland!
That makes it relevant to the whole Maitland Council area, so, with that in mind...
We all have different abilities to keep this campaign going, and time is short to get our say in before Christmas, and legal deadlines, so for those with only:
A TINY BIT of TIME: Could you please share the petition with family and friends who live in Maitland? Perhaps on Facebook messenger, What's app or whatever works for you best.
A LITTLE MORE TIME:
*Could you please keep an eye on several of the Maitland Council area Facebook suburban pages, or Nextdoor website, other socials if possible and work with each other to put the petition up once a day?
AND/OR
*Join the campaign Facebook group Residents for Reasonable Tenambit Development to perhaps coordinate socials or see if there are small actions you could do: https://www.facebook.com/groups/1160781779585281/
SOME TIME &/OR EXPERTISE:
*We want as many complaints to the NSW Ombudsman to reach him by close of business on the 15 December, (before the 28 day deadline after recent Council approval on 18 November). We are very happy for people to independently complain via the online form. You can either come up with your own complaint from the DA plans, or use the key reasons from this petition, your choice.
*Perhaps you're a town planner, an architect, or emergency services person who can look at the questionable DA plans? We'd love your input with a more specific letter to the Ombudsman. Media, we'd love to hear from you.
Head to the NSW Ombudsman complaints page here: https://www.ombo.nsw.gov.au/make-a-complaint
Let's face it, it's almost Christmas, so there's no expectations for a lot of time, but if you happen to have some extra time for this good cause, please get in touch via the campaign Facebook, we'd love your help and creative ideas!
Go Maitland! We're asking for better than our suburbs being turned into cramped, unsafe ghettos, let's do what we can before the 15th of December. Have conversations with neighbours you might not have had, as they may be disadvantaged by this either now, or with another poor development soon.
With great energy for this next push,
from the Residents for Reasonable Tenambit Development
