We’re now at 361 signatures! Thank you for staying engaged and helping elevate this critical safety issue.
But as of today, neither Walk San Francisco nor the SF Bicycle Coalition has made a public statement about the July 1, 2025 crash that injured an elderly woman at Sunset Dunes Park.
Since the park opened in April 2025, there’s been no advocacy from either group around safety measures for pedestrians, older adults, or people with disabilities. No calls for signage, lane separation, or enforcement. These organizations exist to promote safe streets. So why the silence?
📣 Call to Action: Ask Them to Speak Up
Please email the executive directors and ask them to issue a public statement addressing pedestrian safety and the July 1, 2025 collision.

“As a supporter of the Sunset Dunes Park safety petition, I’m asking your organization to publicly acknowledge the July 1, 2025 collision involving a pedestrian and cyclist and to call for immediate safety measures, including signage, lane separation, and temporary restrictions, to protect pedestrians, older adults, and people with disabilities. Please stand with us for safe public space for all.”
Let’s keep the pressure on and get to 500 signatures. Share the petition and ask others to join us in demanding real safety and accountability.
