We’re approaching 300 signatures — thank you to everyone who’s signed and shared so far! Your support is helping shine a light on the urgent safety issues at Sunset Dunes Park.
Last night, on July 3, 2025, I walked the full length of the park between 7:43PM and 8:57 PM. Despite this being the slow west side, I saw more than a dozen cyclists, along with an e-bike, e-scooters, and several skateboarders, all weaving through pedestrians, including kids and seniors.
There are only two signs , one at Lincoln and one at the Sloat entrance, and no clear lane markings. The only “slow” stencil on the ground features a barely noticeable snail. It’s not enough.
This is exactly the kind of dangerous mixing we warned about in our petition. Until clear signage, lane separation, and safety measures are in place, we’re calling on the City to temporarily close the path to bikes, e-bikes, and e-scooters to prevent further injury.
Our goal is simple: no more preventable injuries. Everyone deserves to enjoy the park safely.
