Stop Unreasonable Floodlight Harassment in Barnstable, MA!
"A resident in Barnstable, MA is being harassed by an excessively bright 1,000-watt floodlight pointed directly at their home by a resident living one hundred feet away"
1,000 watt flat panel flood light attached to the side of a house just under to the corner of a third floor window. 6 hour evenings, and 3 hour early mornings. Some nights the flood light comes on and there is no one at the house, or no one takes a german shephard out of the house for exercise or fertilizing the lawn. Especially when it is cold to freezing outside. No way more than fifteen minutes outside!
Main reason is to protect a large healthy german shepard dog. The kind used by police!
However, dog is always out with owner! Maybe two hours in evening, and then probably to go to bathroom. Then in mornings before the owner leaves for work at 5 am. Makes sense to have light on when enjoying time together. Not for 9 hours and nothing is outside.
Had an old hound dog that would be put outside and let do his thing at 3 to 4 am. The hound dog would have to bark at door for five to ten minutes to be let back in. Year round! How long do you think a dog is going to want to stay out at night in the freezing cold after going to the bathroom
Despite complaints to:
Barnstable Town Hall ruled in breeder's favor. Yet the town's web site shows no effect with stationary lights as a use towards irritating coyotes.
Local Police, and State Representative spoke of nothing they could do thanks to a late 1960s early 70s farmers rule for district protecting livestock at night
Governor's office and Senator's office (no response)
Animal control says stationary lights that come on and just stay on do nothing for scaring a coyote
And yet the town that has the same animal control in it is not going to listen to and just allow this
This constant illumination invades privacy, disrupts daily, let alone nightly life of comfort and snoozing, ruins night time views of the sky, to just sitting back and relaxing at night outside like camping in the woods moments, and violates town nuisance ordinances.
Update regulations, Enforce nuisance laws protecting residents.
Order removal/re-direction of excessive floodlight.
Sign to support a peaceful living environment for this Barnstable resident. Let alone residents in other towns across the nation!
