For World Cancer Day 2025 we took this campaign right to the doorstep of Parliament. More than half a million cancer patients have waited too long for treatment over the past decade. We broadcast this appalling news and shared a strong message from patients, frontline workers and our campaign co-founder Professor Price: no more excuses, it’s time to catch up with cancer.

Football legend Bryan Robson OBE joined us in calling for a bold, brave and fully-funded national cancer plan. The Radiotherapy UK patron, who had surgery and radiotherapy for throat cancer in 2012, met with more than 100 MPs, spoke with patients and delivered a letter for the government to the front door of No.10 Downing Street.

The day finished with a win, as government agreed to include radiotherapy in its promised national cancer plan, and to work with Radiotherapy UK and charities like ours. The pledge came thanks to a debate on fair access to radiotherapy, requested by Tim Farron MP, Chair of the All-Party Parliamentary Group for Radiotherapy. During the debate, many MPs highlighted the tragic impact of long waits and poor access to modern treatments on UK cancer patients.

Thank you for your continued support.
