Please use this link to ensure the voices of cancer patients and their loved ones are heard in the NHS's largest-ever consultation on its 10-year plan and help make a real difference for families like ours. It will only take a few minutes and you'll have an opportunity to help ensure that other people in the UK do not face unnecessary barriers to life-saving cancer treatments, like radiotherapy. The government is asking for the views of the public, which is a huge opportunity for each and every one of us. Every additional voice asking for urgent action to improve cancer treatment increases the chances of us having an impact on the UK's long-term health policy. Please take 5 minutes before it closes on 2nd December at 5pm.
In the submission, we'd encourage you to consider including two critical asks: 1) a fully-funded plan for cancer and radiotherapy; and 2) ring-fenced funding for radiotherapy staff budgets. Together, these steps could transform cancer care, improve survival rates, and bring hope to countless patients and families.
To help make this as easy as possible, we've also included a step-by-step guide about how the process works.
Step-by-Step Submission Guide:
1. Go to https://change.nhs.uk/en-GB/
2. Scroll down until you see the box ‘Your ideas for change’ on the left-hand side of the page. Once you see the box, click it.
3. Scroll down until you see the ‘Submit your idea here’ tab – it will be on the right-hand side of your screen.
4. You will first be prompted to create an account by giving a few details such as your name and email.
5. Once your account has been created, you will be prompted to share your idea. The amount of time this takes will depend on how much detail you give. You can simply share a message that we need a fully funded cancer plan, support for radiotherapy cancer treatments, and patients. Or you can share your own story and reasons. It’s entirely up to you.
6. Once you have filled out the prompts on the page, you’re all done!
