It's been a long road learning how to regulate my trauma response from having my family torn apart during an affordable housing crisis. I've suffered much loss but am gaining ground towards healing my heart n mind. I have fought tooth n nail for my children n fur babies, and have hope that we will all be reunited someday in the near future. I consider this petiton to be a great part of what has kept me going. Knowing there are others who have suffered similar adversity, and that there are still some humans who understand the significance of the human and animal bond. It is sometimes hard to think about how that being disabled and living in poverty prevented me from providing my family with a happy home. I hope that this petition will continue to gain support so that humans don't lose connection to thier service animals that bridge the gap between trauma and healing. One paw at a time. The pooch in this photo is still in training, but he has helped me through a few crisis situations. He was rescued after being abandoned in a parking lot. He was bottle fed and delivered to our family not much longer after losing my service dog Ashes. I still hope to be the change I wanna see, and advocate for service animals to not be torn from thier owners who may be experiencing a difficult chapter in thier lives. I hope to recover soon and continue on my healing journey. I want to start a grassroots community campaign that collaborates with a village mindset. A emergency pet foster registry, who can offer temporary shelter while the owner is in treatment, hospitalized, or slipping through the cracks in a municipality. Not every pet wants to be permanently handed off while going through a family crisis. Sometimes it's the pet who leads us out of a dark time towards brighter days. Let's keep this petiton going. Our family needs support in making sure our rescue dog attains the training needed to be a certified service animal. Unfortunately this is not a cost we can afford. I was never provided help with replacing my last service dog with a new one. Ashes was trained through the CDLE Department of Vocational entrepreneurship training I was enrolled in before becoming homeless. Unfortunately there was a two year wait list to get signed back up the last time I checked. The local legal sector has not been very accommodating towards my disabilities, and I have had a hard time pro se advocating for my children or fur babies with out legal aid availability. This hasn't stopped me from making progress, and I'm never gonna stop the fight for our freedom. Thanks again for all the support! Urge others to pass this petiton along as well please!
