Dear Crummock Water supporters,

Thanks for firing up the petition for us - and please keep sharing!

In the photos attached, please notice the bottom image, that shows us the just how bad the lake is going to look if United Utilities are allowed to push through their woeful plan.

Local landowner Mike Falcon, who took the photos, waded into Crummock to just show how ludicrously low the water levels will get.

As Mike says, 'The historical level before the weir was installed was only two feet lower than the current level. The application claims to “return the lake to its previous water level prior to the weir being installed,” but the proposed 1.37m drop is more than double the historic difference of 0.6m. This is not restoration — it is legislative avoidance disguised as conservation and will have severe negative environmental and local consequences if allowed.'

Another local Crummock fan here, writer and wild swimmer Sara Barnes who made a lovely short film about the lake : https://www.instagram.com/bumblebarnes/reel/DJAMFdUsU4H/ (Instagram @bumblebarnes) On her Insta page she also shows us how the gentle sloping beaches swimmers, families and disabled people rely on to enter the water safely, will disappear.

PLEASE REMEMBER to object

Just a short reminder to please comment on United Utilities' planning application by midnight tomorrow - 30 April. (You can comment after this date too but ideally do it by the deadline as it carries more weight).
