Detailed Note - 

It has come to our attention that some individuals have recently been trying to make fundraisers on social media - taking advantage of people's anger and desperation towards High Chief Enenie Nwa Ite and thereby diverting the funds to themselves by circumventing it through others. Please be informed that we, as the authors of this petition and the whistleblowers of these horrible tortures and crimes against animals in Nigeria, DO NOT HAVE ANY PARTICIPATION IN SUCH FUNDRAISERS EITHER AS BENEFICIARIES NOR AS DONORS OR HAVE ANY RELATION TO SUCH FUNDRAISERS WHATSOEVER and we strongly urge people to refrain from being a participant in any capacity in such a fundraiser either.

Recently, two individuals approached us (a lady from the US and a gentleman from Nigeria claiming to be working together for animals and teaching children empathy in Nigeria) with such a fundraiser, requesting us to broadcast their fundraiser as they had a plan to involve a lawyer to prosecute High Chief Enenie Nwa Ite. Nevertheless, we straightforwardly refused to be a part of such a fundraiser in any capacity for the following reasons from the very beginning -

1. We feel that a whistleblower connected to any monetary affairs under any capacity pertaining to the cause is not morally or ethically appropriate. Also, having the trust of more than 5500+ signatories on this platform of Change.org alone, is a huge responsibility on us and hence our every decision and move taken matters.
2. There are only limited ways to check the authenticity of fundraisers especially when it is beyond your country's borders,
3. Reluctance to satisfy donors' questions and queries by the creators of such fundraisers and also lack of transparency towards donors which equates to providing no guarantee for the donors' money along with lots of discrepancies. 
4. Having no regard for the animal victims - but using their pain and torture as a platform for self glorification and self-promotion.

It's impossible to check the authenticity of each and every fundraiser and to flag them as real or fake. Hence, please be informed that at NO POINT in time did we as the whistleblowers, either partake or endorse being a participant - either as a beneficiary or a donor in any fundraiser.

Whether this serial animal torturer is convicted or not is a different matter altogether - however, our endeavours will always be not to let anyone take advantage of this momentum to fulfill their own agenda and gains in the name of this cause. For, not every fraud is financial in nature, sometimes they are done to gather resources and widen networks too.
