Every day, I find myself anxiously worrying about the safety of my friends in Palestine. Their lives are caught in the crossfire of a prolonged and devastating genocide that demands urgent international attention. This plea is not just personal for me but affects countless individuals who desire their rights as human beings to be respected.

According to the UK Ministry of Defence, the UK has provided millions in military support to Israel over the decades, complicating the situation further. The ongoing genocide has led to a severe humanitarian crisis in Palestine, where ordinary people, including women and children, face unthinkable hardships simply trying to live their daily lives.

By continuing this military aid, the UK fuels the cycle of violence and oppression in the region. According to the International Trade Centre, weapons exported directly or indirectly contribute to the escalation of the genocide, causing loss and suffering among Palestinians who desire nothing more than an end to their agony.

We urge the UK government to stop all military aid to isreal. The UK should leverage its position as a global leader to put an end to the genocide.

The funds used for military aid could be redirected to humanitarian assistance, supporting the rebuilding of schools, hospitals, and infrastructure in Palestine.
We must hold our government accountable for its role in the international arena and demand that it prioritise human rights over military interests. By suspending all military aid to Israel, Britain has the opportunity to stand on the right side of history, shaping a future where humanity prevails over genocide.
