The Change.org staff has responded to my inquiry about the comment being reinstated to this petition. Here’s what they said:

We have reviewed your request to reinstate the comments section. At this time, the comments section will remain off due to potential abuse within the comments section.

At Change.org, we must ensure the safety of our users both on and off the platform.

Change.org”

My response:

“Just to clarify, this would mean that the comments will be disabled for a indefinite period of time, right? If that’s the case, then I would be okay with it.”

I am now awaiting for another response for them. If they say that they will still be disabled just to prevent more abusive remarks being posted (I’m looking at you, Travis!), then that’s that.
