I am astounded by the fact that this campaign now has over 200 supporters. Again, I really appreciate this. But we still can’t stop here for we need to rally up ever more heroes. The more we rally up, the more likely the admins of deviantART, Tumblr and Twitter will listen to use and to ban Travis from all three sites and to delete all his posts, such as his “art” and journals. Remember, it’s all possible to make it happen by doing the following actions:
- Chipping in. (Still the most viable way to spread the word. If you have the money for it and have already signed, regardless of how long ago you did it, don’t hesitate to do so. No amount of money that would be chipped in toward this petition is too small but however, the more money you chip in, the more people sign this petition.)
- Sending the petition directly to others by email, SMS, etc. (Still the second most viable option.)
- Post on social media sites such as Facebook. (Like I said from before, it still not recommended to post the petition link on Twitter for Travis is still very active on that site.)
Today, I want to share not just one stamp, but two of them that would focus on bad art blogs on Tumblr.
First off is ColossalStinker’s stamp on the subject:
“- These blogs are made because it's funny to point out the bad things in people's art. You can't take a joke.
Go laugh at something else in way that's harmless. This is not funny. This is hurtful and discouraging to artists. It would be much better if you laughed at fart jokes instead. If you don't like how it's drawn, give the artist a critique instead of just saying how "bad" it is. Every professional artist used to be "bad" in the beginning, the artists you admire used to draw "badly" a while ago, think about it... Don't insult the artist for the subject matter. You don't like the fetish/pairing/crossover/whatever - it's okay, but be respectful or just don't comment and go to a different page. Not everything you see will be for your taste or be at least moral, but that's not an excuse to insult people behind their back. Unless it's something that seriously promotes hate towards a specific person (and they didn't do anything wrong) or a group of people, or encourages people to do something horrible, you should ignore it.”
Travis doesn’t bother to do any of those things. Instead, he just reblogs “bad” art to his Tumblr and in addition, he flames the art, both directly to the artist and/or behind their back. Plus, he promotes and glories that kind of abuse. He may think it’s funny, but to the victims, it is not. This just shows how immature he is.
“- You're whiny / overly sensitive.
And you lack common sense. And don't give me that "I do care about people's feelings", because you refuse to try to understand other people's psychology, therefore you're a just a selfish, hypocritical prick. If that kind of blogs doesn't hurt you - good! I wish I could be like that too, I really do! But I'm not, and I hate it! Many people do not tolerate such treatment either. And even if I wasn't hurt by that kind of blogs, I would still stand up for the "featured" artists. I may pretend that I don't care, but deep inside I'm frustrated and stressed and I feel empathy to those who had their art posted there and wish the creators of those blogs would close them or get banned. Shame on people who submit to those blogs too!.. And stress is bad for health, you know? I'm much more prone to negative emotions than positive. I didn't choose to be like this, I try to think positively, but it simply doesn't help me.”
Travis sure does lack common sense and doesn’t bother to care about the feelings coming from the people that would be beyond the screen of his device(s). Like I said earlier, Travis has attacked other people for over their art that has nothing to do with him and it’s been known that their friends and followers have stood up for them whenever that would occur. Whenever that defending would occur, Travis would dictate that they are “white knights” when they are really not at all. This is why Travis should’ve never joined social media in first place and yet he did. Like I also said from before, he just turned 28 sometime ago meaning that he should’ve done the mature thing years ago, to delete his reblogs, “art” and such posts and to close all of his accounts. He refuses to do any of those things. This is why he should feel ashamed of himself, especially right now.
Now I will go over the second stamp made by s-k-i-e-s that also focuses on the same subject:
"back in 2014 i ended up on some of those blogs. someone had submitted some of my art to i think around 3 or 4 "shitty/horrible deviantart drawings"
let me say from experience. logging into deviantart to find a note telling you someone posted your art to a shitty art blog is a shitty feeling. especially when art is your only healthy coping method for depression and anxiety.
"It can motivate you to work harder and improve!!"
maybe for you. but i dont find "your art is shit lmao" as motivating. i wanted to snap my tablet in half and give up. i lost all motivation to draw. i lost all motivation to even attempt to improve. i developed a perfectionist mindset in fear that if i made wasnt perfect i'd end up with my art plastered on those "shit art" blogs again. the only healthy coping method i had for anxiety and depression became something that stresses me out. even 2 years later I still worry and stress that people will hate it."
Like I said from before, his reblogging does count as abuse and the Tumblr admins have failed to do something about it. Like I also said from before, his malicious actions are prone to make people leave deviantART and/or any others sites that they’re on. It would definitely make their victims give up what they like doing because of him. If trolls and/or malicious online users saw his reblogs, they could easily find the original source(s) of the reblog(s) and once they do, they could attack the artist either directly or indirectly. This is another example of Travis endorsing cyberabuse.
Again, we’re still making good progress with this petition, but must make the admins of deviantART, Tumblr and Twitter to listen to our pleas that would get them to ban Travis on all three sites and to delete all his “art”, journal and obscene post that he should’ve been banned for years ago. Let’s do whatever it takes to make this campaign a major success!
