We, the undersigned concerned citizens strongly oppose the proposed construction of warehouses on the east side of south Ramona Rd in Myerstown, PA. 

The acreage in question, located south of 422 east and extending to King st. holds immense historical, agricultural and environmental significance to Lebanon county and the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania.

Reasons for our opposition:

1. Historical significance: This land is a part of Pennsylvania’s rich heritage with the Union Canal and the Tulpahocken stream running through it. George Washington himself surveyed this land for the canal system making it an irreplaceable piece of our nation’s past.
2. Environmental and scenic impact: the proposed warehouse development would permanently alter the beauty and serenity of the Tulpahocken stream landscape, disrupting the natural ecosystem and diminishing a treasured scenic area.
3. Loss of prime farmland: hundreds of acres of productive, fertile farmland would be lost impacting local agriculture and food production in Lebanon County. This land should be preserved for future generations, not replaced by industrial development.
4. Preservation of historic structures: the 300 year old, German-built home on this property is one of the few remaining in this area that is still in use and well preserved. The unique architectural and cultural landmark must be protected.
5. Community character and quality of life: the construction of warehouses would bring increased truck traffic, noise, pollution and industrial congestion, negatively affecting the rural character and residential quality of life in Jackson Township.

We urge the Jackson Township supervisors to reject this proposal and prioritize the preservation of our history, farmland and natural beauty over industrial expansion.
