The Issue

Our village is facing a critical threat that could irreversibly change its character and essence: a proposal to build 250 homes by the old vicarage nursing home , plus another 350 between Whittington rd and Hammonds place !!AndOur community does not need, nor can it sustain, this unfitting and excessive development.

Currently, our infrastructure is already stretched thin. Building 250 additional homes would mean hundreds more cars flooding narrow roads, creating severe traffic issues and safety concerns. Our small local schools and medical facilities already struggle to support the current population; adding such a large number of families would overwhelm these vital services.

Furthermore, this construction would mar the natural beauty of the open spaces we cherish, spaces critical for wildlife and the well-being of residents. The proposal threatens to eliminate the very green spaces that define our village and provide a crucial habitat for numerous animal species.

The proposed housing development does not account for the needs or wants of our existing community. Unchecked growth is not a solution; instead, it brings problems that have not been adequately addressed by developers focusing solely on profit without considering the repercussions on local life.

We must look towards sustainable and considered growth that reflects genuine community needs and preserves the heart and soul of our village for future generations.

We call upon the local council and developers to reconsider this proposal and seek alternative solutions that better align with the wishes and requirements of current residents.

Please stand with us in protecting the character and future of our village. Sign this petition to voice your opposition against the unnecessary development of 250 homes in our beloved community.
