Stop the unlawful arrest of Pakistan most popular leader

Stop the unlawful arrest of Pakistan most popular leader
The Issue
Urgent Appeal to Supreme Court of Pakistan, United Nations, the European Union, the International Criminal Court, the Human Rights Watch
We appeal with great urgency and concern regarding the situation in Pakistan. The country has become a fascist police state, and the authorities are seeking to unfairly arrest Imran Khan who is the most popular leader in the country. The government is shutting communication networks, and peaceful citizens are being attacked by police and rangers with expired shelling, water cannons, rubber bullets and tear gas.
This blatant fascism is happening because the state machinery refuses to conduct fair and free elections, which Imran Khan and the people of Pakistan have been demanding for the sake of democracy and civil liberties. The apex court of Pakistan has already ordered elections in Punjab & KPK provinces, but they are being thwarted by those in power.
We must be vigilant against the creation of another Morsi-like scenario, where a leader was caught and jailed by the same oppressive forces that seek to undermine democracy and civil rights. In 1971, the Pakistan military made a grave mistake by supporting a minority leader - Bhutto - who had aligned with the establishment, while the judiciary backed him against the majority party leader. As a result, the country was split in two. We cannot allow history to repeat itself, and we must fight against the suppression of free speech and political dissent at all costs.
The fabricated allegations, 80 FIRs and the bogus arrest warrant against Imran Khan are a blatant attempt to throw Pakistan into chaos, delay elections and derail democracy. Imran Khan's life is in grave danger because those in power - Shahbaz Sharif, Rana Sanaullah and Major General Faisal Naseer - are the ones he accused of orchestrating the assassination attemptagainst him on 3rd November 2022.
Houses of workers and leaders in Islamabad are being vandalized by the police. The very force that is meant to protect citizens is terrorizing them with fascist tactics. Rana Sana, known for his violent tendencies, has turned the Islamabad Police into a destructive and murderous force.
The state is standing against its own people shamelessly, and we fear that they will create another scenario similar to that of Morsi in Egypt. Protests have erupted nationwide in many cities of Pakistan. The fascist government is shutting down communication networks and using expired shelling, water cannons, and tear gas to attack peaceful citizens.
We call upon the international community to take immediate action to stop this unlawful arrest and to stand in solidarity with the people of Pakistan. The people of Pakistan deserve democracy, freedom, and the right to elect their leaders without fear of persecution.
If we do not act now, the consequences could be dire. We cannot afford to let democracy die in Pakistan. We urge you to take immediate action and to stand with the people of Pakistan in their fight for democracy and freedom.
