Stop the Unjust Relocation of Spartanburg's Town Clock

Stop the Unjust Relocation of Spartanburg's Town Clock
The Issue
I am a citizen deeply rooted in the community of Spartanburg, and this issue is of personal importance to me. We were previously assured that our beloved town clock, presently situated at Morgan Square, wouldn’t be moved again. This town clock isn't just a piece of the city's infrastructure; it's an icon that we hold dear. The decision to move it away pains those of us who invested our time, money, and emotions into its current home.
Years ago, when the clock was previously relocated, a promise was made to the citizens of our community that it would not be moved again. Many dedicated citizens contributed towards the costs of the previous move through the "Penny Project", and our names are forever enshrined within the clock itself. This bears testament to our commitment to preserving the clock's location as a central part of our cherished town.
This petition is not just about a physical structure; it's about our rights as citizens to have a say in the decisions that affect our community. Therefore, I implore you to join me in advocating for the rights of Spartanburg's citizens and in preserving our town's character and history. I appeal to you to vote NO to stop this relocation from happening. Let the town clock of Spartanburg remain where it is. Sign and stand with us to protect our sense of community, our history, and our town's symbol of togetherness.
