Stop the Unjust Bans in Dead by Daylight — Transparency and Justice for Loyal Players!
The Issue
We are loyal players of Dead by Daylight. We have spent countless hours, money, and emotional investment in this game out of pure love and passion. But now, many of us have been unfairly banned—permanently—without any explanation or process.
Most of us were banned by Easy Anti-Cheat (EAC) simply for using a third-party Chinese language chat plugin. When we appealed to Behaviour Interactive, the developers told us to contact EAC. But EAC rejected all of our appeals without providing any reason. After three failed attempts, EAC blocked us from submitting any further appeals. This lack of accountability is shocking and completely unacceptable.
In March 2025, after a major server outage, many players who had previously received EAC bans suddenly found their bans converted to “10-year bans” issued by the developers. When those players contacted Behaviour again, they were unbanned—no longer told to go to EAC. No explanation or public statement was ever made by either Behaviour or EAC. This arbitrary and non-transparent system is deeply troubling.
Then, with the launch of the Tokyo Ghoul update, Chinese language chat suddenly became natively supported in the game—without any announcement. This proves that the previous bans were related to the Chinese chat plugin and that Behaviour was always aware of the issue, yet refused to respond publicly.
This is not the first time that Chinese players have been ignored or discriminated against. The Castlevania DLC and Junji Ito cosmetics were never made available in China, and Behaviour has never addressed these issues. Our recent experience confirms what many of us have long feared: that Chinese players are not treated equally.
We are not asking for special treatment. We are simply asking for:
Transparency around all ban decisions.
A clear explanation and evidence for each player’s ban.
A real opportunity to appeal bans—with a system open to third-party review.
Equal treatment for Chinese players and all communities.
We love this game. We support fair play. But we also deserve justice. Please support our petition and help us demand accountability.
We don’t want privilege. We want a fair explanation.
