Rumors about the possibility of the Ashram being renovated into a theme park have been ricocheting around lately, sparking unrest among those who treasure its historical and spiritual significance. In India alone, over 12 million people visit heritage sites yearly (World Bank: 2019 Tourism Statistics), showcasing a heritage site's potential to instigate learning and enlightenment without changing its fundamental nature. Gandhi’s Ashram holds a special position among these – it's a direct link to a heritage of non-violence and peace, a symbol of a struggle for freedom that reached out to the hearts of people across the globe.

We respectfully request the Government of Gujarat, and all those concerned, to reconsider this plan, to let Sabarmati Ashram remain untouched and preserved as a cornerstone of global peace and harmony.
