Thank you so much for signing this petition and for making your voice heard to help #saveburswoodpark. Your belief in this campaign is much appreciated!

Yours is one of almost 5,000 signatures received since this petition was launched, with numbers continuing to climb.

During the past 6 weeks there have been many individuals working tirelessly behind the scenes, to raise awareness for the Labor Government's plans to build a motor sport street circuit in Burswood Park. It's humbling to think of how widespread #saveburswoodpark has become.

However, there is still much work to be done!

Building the motor sport street circuit was a Labor WA election commitment. In light of the recent election results which have allowed them to retain government, we need your support more than ever to change their minds about this development and find an alternate solution to building it in Burswood Park:

• Please continue to share this petition with others;
• Email newly elected Labor member for Victoria Park, Hon. Hannah Beazley MLA (Minister.Beazley@dpc.wa.gov.au) and ask her to put pressure on her government to stop the motor street circuit going ahead, including:

  • Deputy Premier, Hon. Rita Saffioti MLA -Minister.Saffioti@dpc.wa.gov.au 

Wanneroo Raceway Alternative

One of the positives of this petition has been the conversations which have been kickstarted to find alternative locations for the motor street circuit. 

Wanneroo Mayor Linda Aitken supports Victoria Park Mayor, Karen Vernon’s request to scrap the motor sport circuit at Burswood Park, and instead, upgrade the existing Wanneroo Raceway. This appears to be a win-win solution for Wanneroo and Victoria Park, while ensuring the Government's vision to "improve tourism and economic growth" for the State of Western Australia.
