The Issue

Hi, my name is Caleb and I'm a 12-year-old student at Charles Ellis Academy. My class and teachers came up with the idea to take on the cause of ending Daylight Saving Time (DST). We've experienced the negative effects of changing the clocks twice a year and know it's time for a change.

So, together, we've started a petition to end DST and have been spreading awareness about the issue in our community. With the support of our classmates, families, and friends, we're on a mission to gather enough signatures to present to our local elected officials.

We believe that by ending DST, we can bring stability and consistency to people's lives and create a brighter future for us all. With our passion for learning and drive to succeed, we know we can make a difference. Thank you for your support in this important cause.

daylight Saving Time (DST) has been a controversial issue for decades, with many people feeling the negative effects of switching their clocks forward and backward each year. This tradition has a long and complex history, dating back to the early 20th century. DST was originally introduced as a way to conserve energy and resources during World War I, but it has since been adopted by many countries for various reasons.

Despite its history, the practice of changing our clocks twice a year has been shown to have negative effects on our health, productivity, and safety. Studies have shown that the time change can lead to sleep deprivation, decreased productivity, and increased risk of accidents and injuries. This is why it's time for us to say enough is enough and demand an end to this outdated tradition.

Aside from the personal consequences, DST can also have a significant impact on businesses, particularly those in the transportation and retail industries. The time change can lead to confusion and chaos, with people showing up to appointments and flights an hour late or early. This creates unnecessary expenses and headaches for everyone involved.

A permanent standard time would not only eliminate these problems, but it would also bring a sense of stability and consistency to our daily lives. Imagine waking up each morning and knowing that the time on your clock will never change, regardless of the season. This would make life much easier for people of all ages and backgrounds.

That's why we are calling on our elected officials to take action and end DST once and for all. By signing this petition, you are joining a growing movement of people who believe that it's time for a change. Let's work together to create a brighter, more harmonious future for us all, free from the confusion and disruption of Daylight Saving Time.
