A meeting of The Scott Trust Ltd board on the afternoon of Monday 25th November 2024 failed to reach a decision on the sale of The Observer to Tortoise Media.

Although it is not clear what this means at this time, it is possible that everyone fighting to keep The Observer protected alongside The Guardian may have achieved some success. At least for now.

This includes you, so thank you for signing the Change.org petition. And a special thanks to all those who have also promoted the petition.

The fight to Save The Observer will continue, and journalists at both newspapers pass on their gratitude to you.
