Human Rights for All
12 Nov 2020

Hello supporters. Earlier this year, your support helped free baby Isabella and her mother Huyen. Now, Human Rights For All and some of Australia’s biggest stars need your help again.

Ali * has been held in immigration detention for EIGHT years. He is LGBTIQ, and he feels as unsafe in detention as he was in his country of origin. Please, can you sign the petition to help ensure #Freedom4Ali?

When Ali and his lover were found together, he was stabbed in a violent attack. Local militia became involved and his family were threatened. Ali fled to Australia believing he would be safe here. Instead, he was locked up for eight years.

Now, over a dozen high-profile Australians have signed on to the #Freedom4Ali campaign, lending their voices to a powerful video. In it, they tell Ali’s story, in his own words, and call on Australians to join the movement to free Ali.

Click here to watch the video and sign the #Freedom4Ali petition.

Inside detention, Ali has no support, To come out as someone who is LGBTIQ in a place like immigration detention comes with the risk of assault, harassment, or worse.

To date, the Department of Home Affairs refuses to reopen Ali’s case. He sits in limbo, as he cannot be returned to his country of origin where he will face violence and persecution.

In recent months, Human Rights For All has helped free more than half a dozen immigration detainees. Today, I need your help to free one more.

Please, click here to sign the petition and join the #Freedom4Ali movement.
