I am relieved to let you all know that yesterday, Huyen and her 2-year-old daughter Isabella walked out of immigration detention in Melbourne into the arms of Paul, their loving husband and father.
The family has been reunited after Huyen was granted a bridging visa. Finally, after years of legal challenges and all of your signatures, Huyen and her daughter are where they belong - at home.
This wouldn't have happened without your signatures, phone calls, and support. Mum, Dad, and daughter are all so happy to be reunited.
However, across the country and on Christmas Island, loved ones in immigration detention are not so lucky. They are still languishing in detention as COVID-19 continues to pose a very real threat to their safety.
This campaign will continue to advocate for the rights and safety of these many fathers, sons, and husbands who should be allowed to be with their families during this unprecedented time.
Please keep sharing this petition, and keep these people in your hearts.
