The Issue

No money is necessary! Just your signature! Living in the serene town of Auburn, nestled within Fond du Lac County, Wisconsin, has always felt like a dream — until now. Growing up amidst the gentle sway of the trees and the open fields, I've cherished the untouched beauty of this landscape. But that tranquility is under threat. One Energy Renewables is planning to develop a solar farm on the Beck Family's property, located on County Road V, and it’s causing a wave of unrest among us residents.

The proposed solar farm may promise sustainable energy, but the reality is far from appealing. These solar installations are anything but aesthetically pleasing and disrupt the picturesque nature of our beloved town. Furthermore, it will take two long years before we see any community benefit, and even then, there is no guarantee of a reduction in our electricity costs. To make matters worse, this project’s stake can be sold to any company, leaving us uncertain about the future consequences.

Concerns escalated when One Energy Renewables refused to address the depreciation of property values in the nearby residential area, another serious impact that this project would have. This is compounded by their lack of communication with the community about their plans. The voices of the Auburn residents — our fears, objections, and suggestions — appear to have been largely ignored.

It is crucial for us to protect our town’s integrity and ensure that developments align with our community’s best interests. Investing in renewable energy is important, but not when it comes at a cost too high for Auburn to bear. Community involvement and environmental aesthetics must coexist without causing harm to property values and without leaving us in limbo about long-term benefits.

Join me in opposing the construction of this solar farm. Stand with the residents of the town of Auburn in preserving our home’s natural beauty, safeguarding our property values, and demanding transparent processes from those who wish to develop in our community. Your support is vital in ensuring that the power remains with the people — sign this petition if you believe the town of Auburn deserves better.
