Friends,
An article rife with claims not based in science and straight out of the Conservancy’s playbook to justify their plan to slaughter all Catalina deer fueled a NEW SURGE OF SUPPORT for our cause!
Signup requests to our Facebook group, sign-ons to our Pledges against the deer slaughter, and donations to our Deer Defense Fund hit an all-time high—including a brave and very generous gift from a Wrigley family member—thank you!
If you have not yet signed our Concerned Citizen or Current Conservancy Supporter Pledge to share your concerns with Catalina's power brokers and public officials who will decide our deer’s fate, thank you for doing so now!
For a welcomed dose of reality, watch Coalition partner Rick Travis tell the truth about Catalina's deer on location on Catalina island.
As a reminder from our last update, if you can, join us for the December 13, 2023 meeting of the California Fish and Game Commission in San Diego, California, or submit a letter using the instructions below.
Watch for another update soon.

WHERE: Handlery Hotel in San Diego (950 Hotel Circle North, San Diego, CA 92108).
Catalina's mule deer are not on the agenda but the public is invited to speak on the issue during the general public comment period. No action will be taken, but we can influence having the item added to the agenda at a future meeting.
This meeting will be live-streamed; visit www.fgc.ca.gov the day of the meeting to watch or listen.
Speaking at the Meeting
The most impactful way to have your voice heard is to join our coalition at the meeting and provide your comments to the commissioners in person! Please check in with a designated staff member to complete a "speaker card" before the general public comment period is announced. Speakers will be identified in groups.
Speaking via Webinar/Teleconference
If you are unable to attend in person, you can still provide your comment at the meeting by joining the teleconference or Zoom. We will post the Zoom link as soon as the FGC shares it or you can find it on the FGC website as soon as it is posted HERE.
Submitting Written Comments*
If you are unable to attend in person or Zoom, send your public comment to the commissioners by this Thursday, 11/27/2023, or anytime before the meeting.
Submit by one of the following methods:
