We’re joining forces with Ilkley Clean River Group, SOS Whitstable, Windrush Against Sewage Pollution, Surfers Against Sewage, Beneath British Waters, Friends of Hurley, Henley Mermaids, River Action, Save Our Swale, and a coalition of experts from King’s College London, the UK Centre for Ecology & Hydrology, the University of Manchester, and the University of Greenwich.

Why are we uniting?

Because privatisation has failed, and the first step towards a solution is clear: Special Administration.

What is Special Administration?

Special Administration is a legal tool that allows the government to step in, take control of failing water companies, and put an end to the prioritisation of dividend returns over environmental protection. We’re calling on the government to start with Thames Water and use this as a turning point to finally clean up the industry.

Why Special Administration?

  • It acts as a firebreak, allowing the government to halt destructive practices and properly assess the water industry’s failures.
  • It eliminates unsustainable company debt, ensuring that the burden isn’t passed onto customers.
  • It stops the unjust flow of dividends to shareholders who have contributed nothing to these crumbling monopolies.

This isn’t just about fixing Thames Water—it’s about transforming an industry that has been putting profit over the environment for far too long.
