Simply wrong for Petaluma.  This poorly designed  hotel could be anywhere and has no relationship to the historic architecture of downtown Petaluma.

Might a modest new hotel be a good thing for the downtown?  Maybe.  Current hotels are at 60-65% occupancy - so is one really needed?  TBD but iffy.

What about parking?  Now that is a challenge.  Some say just get out of your cars. Certainly, a hotel with 93 rooms and 150 or more seats for event space, a rooftop bar, and restaurant plus 80 or more employees will have impact.  Serious impacts on parking and traffic can be anticipated.

What about other City services?  What are the environmental impacts?  Impacts on water demand, fire protection, policing, waste management?  TBD? Yet our planning commission seem to ignore these issues and push forward a proposal with a "mitigated neg dec".  What does this mean?  No environmental impact assessment.

What about deliveries of all supplies needed for a hotel and restaurant?  What happens to B Street?  What about stacked up cars on Petaluma Blvd waiting for some mysterious valet to show up . . . and then where does the valet drive to park your car?  Please give Petaluma real solutions.

How about that 68'-10" building towering over Rex Hardware and our Petaluma Museum?  No relationship to the scale of historic downtown at all.

If this project were to be approved - maybe with proper economic analysis, maybe with considerate redesign?  Maybe with developers who really do care about Petaluma?

If you question what is going on and if you are really concerned - you have hundreds of Petalumans who stand with you.
