Up until a few weeks ago, the CDC had no mention of aviation, avgas, or airports as workplace or other exposure to lead - that has changed!
According to their website, sources of lead exposure include:
"Children who live near airports may be exposed to lead in air and soil from aviation gas used in piston engine aircrafts."
We know that people will argue that exhaust from leaded aviation fuels isn't really an issue or doesn't really cause harm, but the facts say otherwise. Slowly but surely, the awareness is growing, most importantly at a federal level. What we can all help with is sharing this information with our communities, and the facts are on our side.
Thank you for your continued efforts and please remember to share this with everyone you know who might be affected.
