After being met with a skip of food waste on their doorstep, Tesco will meet the Stop the Rot team this week to discuss our campaign asks. Tesco have largely been the sector leaders on food waste, they were the first of the big supermarkets to release their in-store food waste data and they are the only supermarket to have done a farm-to-fork analysis of the waste of 25 most popular products. But this is just the first step, we need to challenge them to go further and tackle the core of their food waste problem, not just tackle their in-store waste or a few specific products.
