Thank you to everyone who attended the 10/30 meeting in support of our community. Because this meeting focused on Scenario 4, we emphasized rezoning Walney Oaks from Franklin back to Rocky Run, as Franklin is nearing capacity while Rocky Run has space. This change would allow our children to attend middle school with longtime friends and strengthen our case to remain in the Chantilly pyramid. Dr. Reid listened closely, added our neighborhood to her “hot spots” list, and made it clear that it would be “every kind of foolish” for our community to be removed from Chantilly High School given our proximity. We also spoke directly with FCPS Chief of Facilities Services Erik Gordon, who asked for a follow-up to review our case in more detail. Importantly, Dr. Reid noted that current maps (A–D) do not reflect future boundary plans.
