The WCC are looking to remove 20 of the 25 car parks on Cuba Street between Ghuznee Street and Vivian Street in order to widen the footpath on one side of the road.

According to the WCC this will result in the loss of $207,000 in annual parking revenue, which equates to well over 40,000 hours of paid car parking. Not only is this money we can as a city ill afford to lose, but also represents real people who will no longer be able to access our businesses by their preferred means.

The removal of these car parks represent a real threat to the survival of many of the businesses in the immediate area and is another financial burden on all rate  payers!
