Stop the Release of Convicted Murderer George W. Philbrook Into a Nursing Home

Stop the Release of Convicted Murderer George W. Philbrook Into a Nursing Home
The Issue
We, the undersigned, strongly oppose the decision to place George W. Philbrook — a convicted murderer serving a life sentence — into a nursing home under medical parole in Massachusetts.
Philbrook is not simply a sick inmate. He is a violent and dangerous man with a long, documented history of extreme behavior. He brutally murdered his ex-wife, Dorothy Philbrook, shooting her multiple times outside her home and taunting her as she died. After the attack, he fled the scene and was reportedly en route to commit further violence when authorities apprehended him.
He has a well-known record of domestic violence, repeated violent outbursts, and a prior escape from custody — making him a clear flight risk. Releasing him into any unsecured or lightly supervised environment, such as a nursing home, endangers innocent residents, caregivers, and the broader community.
Family members who testified against him are terrified. If he escapes again, he could seek revenge. This is not speculation — it is a real and proven threat.
Medical parole must never become a loophole that allows violent criminals to re-enter society. We call on the Commonwealth of Massachusetts to immediately reconsider and revoke the decision to place George W. Philbrook in a nursing home. He must remain in a secure medical facility appropriate for someone serving a life sentence for murder.
Please sign this petition to protect vulnerable nursing home residents, dedicated staff, and the public from a convicted killer.
