Stop the redesign of Town End Pier gardens

Dear Supporters.  You will be aware of the Full board council meeting that took place last night, concerning the Pier gardens. No surprise this did not go in our favour, With several board members not attending.
The Mayor did a good job of reading out our petition. Also, there is a counteracting petition popped up on line that is pressing for the works and heavy excavations to continue.
I am not sure, however this counteracting petition is needed as the works at this point are continuing anyway.
What we can do now Continue sharing petition regardless of where you’re from does not matter Target the seafront councillors at Croft Baker ward with your objections. to this ongoing revamp. an challenge them why they did not stand up for a petition with 1.46 signatures.
Lets just recap what to hold the council to account for
Removal of the Maze back in 2024, To Force a noisy skate park, in the space where the maze once stood.
2nd The Removal of crazy Golf course and the original main Golf course trajectory which were the parks assets.
3rd The removal of winding paths and beautiful green spaces, grass removed and grounds bulldozed.
This is not within keeping of the Heritage History originality of the Former grounds.
Forcing and bulldozing infrastructure to extend grounds beyond there trajectory.
Hemingway design was designed for a large city with heavy concrete infrastructure not a small local town like Cleethorpes.
4th Council chopping down Former Mature trees in the height of summer claiming it was required.
If Everyone who has signed this petition gets involved we can have 1.46 emails going to North east Lincolnshire council in objection to the revamp
This will leave a paper trail that can be used in evidence against them.
This petition has now been to Full board council it cannot go back a 2nd time but we do have a backup petition stop heavy excavations, so keep sharing the link. Even with this one the council can still be updated on signatures which shows opposition for what they’re doing to the former grounds.
You know what to do lets continue to show the council we cannot be just brushed off, that we are serious and making a stand for accountability and needless destruction of the Former grounds.
Its clear opinion is very divided between those that wanted the revamp which worked in favour of the councils sweeping modernisation plans, and those who did not want the changes were managed this shows a flawed consultation process pushed through for altering the grounds beyond there trajectory.
Let’s act now and continue to put pressure on the council because we are the ones who did not go along with their plan.
We are the ones whom appreciated the grounds in their former glory and originality.
Challenge why a less aggressive light refurbishment was never considered.?
Thanks for standing up against this aggressive revamp that may even look good when its finished but that is not the point we’re making.
