Stop the Proposed Trump Tower Development on the Gold Coast of the Bundjalung Nation.

Stop the Proposed Trump Tower Development on the Gold Coast of the Bundjalung Nation.
The issue
The Gold Coast is known for its natural beauty, inclusivity, and strong cultural heritage of the Bundjalung people's & its community-focused development. Any major project proposed for our city should reflect these values.
There is growing concern about proposals to build a Trump-branded tower in Surfers Paradise. Beyond issues of over-development, environmental impact, and pressure on local infrastructure, many residents are deeply uncomfortable with the Trump brand and what it represents culturally.
The Trump administration has pursued immigration policies and actions that many Australians view as inhumane, discriminatory, and fundamentally opposed to democratic and constitutional principles. These actions do not reflect the values on what we stand for in the Bundjalung Nation of Australia.
The Bundjalung Nation is a proudly multicultural country and strengthened by diversity. We do not wish to support, promote, or legitimise a political brand associated with policies that targets race of different backgrounds & beliefs & undermine our human rights.
Allowing a Trump-branded development on the Gold Coast would send the wrong message about who we are as a community and what we are willing to endorse.
We call on Gold Coast City Council and the Queensland Government to:
Reject any development application for a Trump-branded Tower.
Ensure genuine community consultation before approving major developments.
Prioritise projects that align with cultural & heritage & Australian values of fairness, inclusivity, and sustainability.
The Gold Coast should reflect the people who live here on the Gold Coast of the Bundjalung Nation — not controversial political brands that divide communities.
Respectfully
