BERWYN BANK PUBLIC HEARING FOR LIVE/WORK UNITS - 02/24/2026

There will be a public hearing on February 24, 2026 at 7 PM in city council chambers to hear objections and comments to a proposed amendment to Berwyn's Zoning Ordinance to define and allow live/work units as a special use in the Depot District.

The purpose of the zoning ordinance amendment would be to allow commercial units with living quarters on the first floor of the Berwyn Bank Building.

Comments and objections can be submitted to City Clerk Letty Garcia at lgarcia@ci.berwyn.il.us , or at 6700 West 26 th Street, Berwyn, Illinois, prior to 4:00 P.M. the day of the Public Hearing.

CITY OF BERWYN LEGAL NOTICE/NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING
Notice is hereby given to all interested persons that the City Council of the City of Berwyn will hold a public hearing on Tuesday, the 24th day of February, 2026, in the City of Berwyn Council Chambers on the second floor, located at 6700 West 26 th Street, Berwyn, Illinois, at the hour of 7:00 P.M. or as soon thereafter as the business of the City Council permits, to consider the following:
The request of the City of Berwyn (the Applicant) for approval of a Text Amendment to the text of Table 1244.02-A. Use Table (Residential Uses) within Section 1244.02 (Use Table), and Section 1254.02 (Definitions) of the City of Berwyn Zoning Ordinance to add a definition of work-live units and to allow such uses as a special use in the C-3 Depot Mixed-Use Zoning District.
The amendments to the text of the Zoning Ordinance may be approved by the City Council based on consideration of a balance of the standards set forth for such amendments in Section 1252.03.E.3. of the Zoning Ordinance. A full copy of the proposed Text Amendment Ordinance is available upon request from City Clerk Leticia Letty Garcia at lgarcia@ci.berwyn.il.us , or at 6700 West 26 th Street, Berwyn, Illinois.
During the Public Hearing the City Council will hear testimony from and consider any evidence presented by persons interested to speak on this matter. In addition, objections and other comments, if any, relating to the proposed Text Amendment request may be submitted to City Clerk Leticia Letty Garcia at lgarcia@ci.berwyn.il.us , or at 6700 West 26 th Street, Berwyn, Illinois, prior to 4:00 P.M. the day of the Public Hearing.
