I wanted to post an update and the video from last night's Council of The Whole meeting. The video is posted and you can watch the entire meeting, but if you are concerned about what was said about the Bank Building, it starts/ends at 35:44 - 42:25
COW Meeting
The BDC Executive Director is claiming that that the developer needs to have 2 options when approaching the bank. One showing the use as live/work and one showing all commercial on the street level.   He insists that everyone is on the same page as wanting a full commercial occupancy on the street level, but keeps circling back on the issue of walk/traffic score*
*Traffic Counts (ADT): Refers to "Average Daily Traffic," which measures the number of vehicles passing a location, indicating storefront exposure & Foot Traffic/Pedestrian Volume

So, what can we do now? 

Simple, let's use this platform to show our support for retail, restaurants and small business in that space. 
If you or anyone you know have a small business that would even consider being located in the depot, please sign, share this petition and reach out to the 1st ward alderman Micah Caldwell. (linked on this petition)

Quería publicar una actualización y el video de la reunión del Consejo Plenario de anoche. El video ya está disponible y pueden ver la reunión completa, pero si les interesa lo que se dijo sobre el edificio del banco, la parte relevante comienza y termina entre los minutos 35:44 y 42:25.

El director ejecutivo de la BDC afirma que el promotor debe presentar dos opciones al banco: una que muestre el uso como vivienda/negocio y otra con locales comerciales en la planta baja. Insiste en que todos están de acuerdo en que se desea una ocupación totalmente comercial en la planta baja, pero sigue insistiendo en el tema del flujo peatonal y vehicular*.
*Conteo de tráfico (ADT): Se refiere al "Tráfico Diario Promedio", que mide la cantidad de vehículos que pasan por un lugar, lo que indica la visibilidad de los escaparates y el volumen de peatones.

Entonces, ¿qué podemos hacer ahora?

Sencillo: usemos esta plataforma para mostrar nuestro apoyo al comercio minorista, los restaurantes y las pequeñas empresas en ese espacio.
