The Issue

Our connection to our community and our home in Sibley, MO, runs deep. Our community, a tight-knit and hardworking group of farmers, retirees, and young families, cherish the tranquility and sanctity of the land in which we've invested our hopes and dreams. The proposal for a Battery Storage Facility on the southeast corner of Wood Road and E. Blue Mills Road starkly contradicts the values, prosperity, and vision we have for our community. It's not just an establishment; it's a potential threat looming over the safety, health, and future of our land that we love and intend to protect for our current and future generations.

We hold a litany of concerns stemming from prior environmental incidents of similar battery storage facilities across the state and wider United States that drive detrimental health effects to the local population and wildlife. This proposal places undue health risks upon us all without offering tangible community benefits. Moreover, this development could disrupt our local economy, particularly affecting our farmers whose livelihoods are rooted in the integrity of our soil, water, and air.

It is paramount to consider the interests of those who reside here on a daily basis and not the business interests of those who come and go. We do not wish for our rights to be overshadowed or our voices to go unheard. We plead with you to reject the proposed Battery Storage Facility development in Sibley, MO.

Act now to protect our community, our health, and our future. Please, sign this petition and make our voices heard.
