The Issue

Residents of Cumberland, WA, live amidst some of the most pristine land that exists in our region. This is one of the last wild places. Our peace and tranquility are under threat by a proposed aggregate mine and asphalt plant spanning 900 acres in SE King County.

This proposal not only threatens our way of life but also risks irreversible damage to our environment. According to studies conducted by environmental scientists, such large-scale mining operations can lead to significant habitat destruction and biodiversity loss (source: Environmental Impact Assessment reports). Moreover, asphalt plants emit harmful pollutants which can have detrimental effects on air quality (source: EPA Air Quality Index reports).

Our community values its natural beauty and tranquility above all else - it's what makes Cumberland unique. We cannot stand by while this proposal threatens to strip us off these treasures.

We implore local government officials and planning bodies to reconsider this proposal with due regard for its potential impacts on both human life and wildlife habitats.

Please sign this petition if you believe in preserving the pristine nature of SE King County for future generations. Let's stand together against this destructive project!
