STOP THE PRODUCTION INHUMANE GLUE TRAPS!

STOP THE PRODUCTION INHUMANE GLUE TRAPS!
The Issue
As most of you may be aware that glue traps that were meant for trapping rats and mice to keep the house rodent free are causing to be problematic. Companies claim that these glue traps are 100 percent safe, nontoxic, effective, and eco-friendly.
To give a gist, Glue traps consist of pieces of cardboard, fiberboard, or plastic coated with a sticky adhesive designed to ensnare any small animal that wanders across or lands on its surface.
These traps were initially produced to keep your house rodent free but are proving to be costly and life-threatening not only to rats but to other species as well, mainly snakes! Snakes are natural pest controllers and their main prey are rodents. These snakes follow the scent of the rodent and end up getting stuck in the glue trap. The glue is usually so strong that they find it difficult to free themselves which makes their life a living hell.
Every year; snake rescuers, forest department, and wildlife NGOs in India and across the globe rescue 1000's of snakes that end up glued to this and suffer a miserable death. These types of rescues are a big challenge to rescuers and have to be dealt with with utmost care.
So, let us join our hands together and stop the production of these deadly glue traps and think of alternatives that could be used in a safe and effective way.
