Hello everyone!
I wanted to thank everyone for their continued support against the privatization of Highland Park's Crossing Guards as well as provide an update.
Thanks to everyone's support, we were able to defeat privatization of the school crossing guards during the 2024-2025 school year. We were also able to get Borough Council members to publicly declare support for keeping the crossing guards as public employees and against privatization at the May 19, 2026 Boro Council meeting.
Going forward I want to encourage everyone who signed to continue to be politically active in their community by attending all local meetings as local decisions directly affect your and your community's quality of life and safety. Please continue to attend the Borough Council Meetings, Board of Education meetings, etc. If you haven't attended a local meeting yet, start attending them now. It's never too late to be politically engaged in your community. Remember that most local meetings now provide remote attendance in addition to in-person attendance too.
